Myochine is a portmanteau of "myo" which is the latin word for "muscle" and "machine" -- "muscle machine. I coined the term to describe a new category of mechanisms designed to work with artificial muscle in advanced robotics applications. The name stuck. And I now use "Myo" as the signature on my artwork and Myochine LLC for my consulting, publishing, and intellectual property works. But you can call me "Tom".
